The term “Melanated” acknowledges and celebrates the melanin found in a specific group of females who have had to overcome challenges and jump hurdles unlike any other female group.
The term “Melanated” acknowledges and celebrates the melanin found in a specific group of females who have had to overcome challenges and jump hurdles unlike any other female group.
“Pearl” symbolizes the strength and beauty of black women to take oppression, abuse, denial, pain, deception, poverty (the list is endless) and turn these obstacles into something strong, resilient, priceless, and beautiful. Advocate for African American female issues and rights of black women; highlighting stereotypes and negative critiques of mainstream representations as false.
