There is currently an issue with /define which may force the bot to restart.
Welcome to my website! Here you will find information regarding the Mekitsa Discord bot.
Mekitsa is a project written in Discord.py 2.0. Utilizing application commands, as well as Google and YouTube's APIs, the bot's purpose is basic image and video searching.
The project also includes some role assignment functionality. However, it is hard-coded, thereby subject to review on a case-by-case basis for each specific server the bot is used in.
For any assistance regarding the bot, feel free to check out the rest of this website, or contact me via the social media links below!
This instance of the bot is a 2.0 release. It existed in a different form in the past - one I prefer to call Mekitsa Legacy, or Mekitsa 1.0.
Mekitsa Legacy was a Discord.js application hosted on Autocode, which no longer exists, since its founder - Keith Horwood - ceased its operations on 26 April 2024.
The closure of Autocode inspired me to recreate the project in a language I preferred. I mostly brute-forced my way to making the bot functional in JavaScript because Autocode only accommodated projects in that language, but in the end, I wasn't really that satisfied with the results.
While the difference is not that large in my work with Python due to some personal qualms I have with coding, I do feel more confident exploring different aspects of the library Discord has provided, since I have some very bare-bones experience with the language already.
The mekitsa is a traditional Bulgarian dish consisting of deep fried dough. It is made with flour, eggs, yogurt, a leavening agent, water, salt, and oil.
As a conventionally breakfast dish, when served, mekitsa is often powdered with icing sugar or garnished with jam, honey or sirene (white cheese). It can also be eaten with yogurt. The dish is popular in the Bulgarian, Macedonian, and Serbian regions and is a common cultural dish. The name is derived from the Slavic root "mek" ("soft"), referring to the dish's texture, while "–itsa" is a Slavic feminine suffix.
