I was born in Dallas, Texas, but mostly grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York - the heart of the Mid-Hudson River Valley. My love of animals started young, manifested in farm-based summer camps and raising chickens in 4-H. However, my passion for wildlife conservation biology was solidified during a 2nd grade trip to the Bronx Zoo.
I am a self-declared "taxa-agnostic" researcher. Though much of my research involves ornithology, I prefer to focus more on the mastery of tools (genomics, bioacoustics, ecological analyses, etc.) which may be broadly applied to a variety of taxa.
