Design Document Draft

The preliminary design document is compiled and may be found here. It includes equations for the motor dynamics, motor torque calculations, dynamic MATLAB simulations, and rendered CAD models. The above image shows the revised manipulator design with toothed timing belts and pulleys. A shaft press fits into the base differential's gears to accommodate a bearing between the gears and pulley. Including gravity compensation in the simulated controller prevented consistent undershooting of the desired position.
