COVID-19, Specification Changes, and Test Document

Due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the requirements given to the MEIOSIS team have changed. Since there is now an inability to experiment and test in the lab as well as continue the creation of the manipulator. However, some tests can still be performed and results can be determined.

As a result of some of these tests, the specification document has been updated. Requirement 1.5 has acquired a new specification and now has two. The new specification states, "The manipulator shall have a maximum reach between 300 and 700 mm. Specification 1.5.b has been changed due to feedback from tests that changed the overall design of the manipulator. Requirement 1.6 also gained a new specification. This new specification states that "The system's workspace must contain a hemispherical shell which has a thickness of 280 mm where the robot is theoretically fully dexterous. The final change to specifications is to specification 1.6.b. This specification changed due to the aforementioned design changes that were made.

We have made progress on our test document. This document consists of the processes required to test each specification and the results we expect to see. This document also includes data obtained during tests that we could perform and the data obtained during said tests.
