Curriculum Vitae

Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics in the College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Zayed University, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I also serve as a Fellow at the Global Labor Organization and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability at Monash University.

My primary research interests are in the fields of development economics and environmental economics. Part of my research has evaluated the costs of climate change in terms of higher levels of ambient air pollutants. More recently, I have been working on applied microeconomics issues surrounding gender, women empowerment, interpersonal violence against women, child health, and economics of the household in a developing country context using empirical methods.

I received my PhD in Economics from Cornell University, New York, in 2017. Prior to that, I completed my MS in Quantitative Economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi and my B.A. in Economics from Jadavpur University.
