The film follows a housewife's harrowing journey through a cycle of domestic abuse. The story reveals the pervasive nature of this issue and its devastating impact on countless women.
In our final project we wanted to have a montage of different women experiencing some sort of harassment and writing this screenplay helped us identify how many scenes we had to shoot and how we had to plan accordingly.
Prior to writing the screenplay, Khansa and I carefully discussed each scene, ensuring we shared a common understanding of the number of scenes required and how we envisioned them.
For our second preliminary we had to shoot a conversation between two of our main characters
Khansa: Editor & Cameraman
Mehak: Director & Writer
To streamline our production process, Khansa and I divided the responsibilities from the early stages. I focused on scriptwriting and direction, meticulously planning each shot to ensure efficient filming. Khansa, meanwhile, took charge of editing and shooting the scenes. This division of labor proved crucial, especially given the time constraints imposed by our actors' availability.
We met after school to review the screenplay with Khansa. As the actors had already received the script, we could quickly discuss our vision for each scene and any necessary adjustments.
The production design for our film was kept simple, with a nightsuit as the primary prop. To maintain authenticity, we chose a common shalwar kameez as the nightsuit. We relied on bedside lamps to create a dim and warm atmosphere, replicating a nighttime setting. To enhance the scene's realism, we decluttered my bedroom, removing unnecessary items and creating a more mature ambiance. `
Our final preliminary required us to introduce our main character through a series of scenes, providing a glimpse into her life and personality.
the roles and responsibilities for this preliminary were same as the previous one.
Our film delves into the life of Noor, a 29-year-old housewife, who juggles domestic responsibilities while battling internal and external pressures. The narrative explores her struggles to maintain her mental and emotional well-being amidst a demanding lifestyle.
Before the shoot, Khansa and I meticulously planned our lighting and camera angles for each scene. As the actors had already familiarized themselves with the script, we could efficiently begin filming. Initially, I found it challenging to direct and provide feedback without appearing overly critical. However, I soon gained confidence and was able to guide the actors effectively. We opted for natural lighting and simple, worn clothing to reflect Noor's character and the film's overall mood. To create a realistic setting, we minimized clutter in the room, focusing on a clean and minimalist aesthetic.
