The Biosphere and climate are linked with intricate feedbacks. My research explores this connection through paleoclimate reconstructions with paleoecology-derived proxies. I also explore modern ecosystems to better calibrate our tools to explore the past.
My methods primarily focus on plant wax biomarkers and pollen within sediment cores. Together, these data can estimate past temperature, precipitation patterns, and plant communities as well as inform us on atmospheric systems, such as the ever-important westerly winds.
