Ms. Meghan MacIntyre
About Me
My name is Meghan MacIntyre and I cannot wait to share with you my passion for education. I am a graduate of Newberry College with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Studio Art. I am originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, located about an hour north of Philadelphia. Raised by two educators, my goal is not only to be a great teacher but help progress public education as a whole.
My Mission
As seen on the chart to the right, the percentage of students that are not competent in Mathematics is almost double that of English and Language Arts. I believe the biggest reason for this is students are having an issue understanding the real world aspects of Mathematics. Most of the math taught in High School can be experienced in the world; however, as educators we have to show students how to experience it. Art is the perfect classroom for this, there is an incredible amount of math in art. I would like to use art as a kinesthetic way to approach math to hopefully make it easier for students to understand.
