PROJECT TITLE: Designing of Energy Efficient Smart Classroom Using Image Processing and Embedded System

Research Problem Statement: Proposed a new method of controlling the power supply of classrooms using, Image Processing. Here first a reference image of an empty classroom is taken and any change in that reference image is detected and then according to that change respective equipment's in the area of detection will change. Thus power wastage is controlled.

This is dual usage system in which a camera is used for detecting people as well as surveillance purposes. This is very simple, efficient and cheaper technique to save energy. Another big advantage is it can be easily integrated with existing system.

PROJECT TITLE: Home Automation Using Speech

Origin of the research problem Speech recognition is a vast topic of interest and is looked upon as a complex problem. In a practical sense, speech recognition solves problems, improves productivity, and changes the way we run our lives. Reliable speech recognition is a hard problem, requiring a combination of many techniques.

Interdisciplinary relevance:- Command and control (C&C) speech recognition allows users to interact with a system by speaking commands or asking questions restricted to a fixed grammar containing pre-defined phrases. Whereas C&C interaction has been commonplace in telephony and accessibility systems for many years, only recently have mobile devices had the memory and processing capacity to support client-side speech recognition.

Significance of the study: It help us to improve our technology one step further and control each and every application whether it will be appliances, robot , speaking GPS receivers, electronic toys, intelligent alarm systems, speaking clocks using speech or voice
