Ceramics
In this introductory ceramics course, I created pieces of my own design using traditional hand building techniques, including coil, slab construction and pinched forms. I used a variety of surface decoration and glazing techniques. I learned to approach ceramic artwork as both functional and sculptural objects. I had the opportunity to develop creativity as well as develop my technical skills and artistic vocabulary. Throughout the progression of this course, I learned about a variety of different cultures and their impact on the ceramic artform.
