Megan for Malvern
Molding our future, Making new memories and Moving us forward
About me:
I am a lifelong resident of Malvern. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 28 years. We have four children and one grandchild. I have been in the health care field as a LPN for over 15 years. As a young child I attended Malvern City Council meetings with my mother who served on our city council for several years and have had a love for city government and leadership since then. I am committed to keeping Malvern a growing and thriving community. I am interested in holding public office in Malvern in the future. As a nurse I've spent my career giving the best care I can to all my patients and now I want to use my skills to take care of Malvern citizens. I served with the Main Street Malvern board for two years and am currently serving on the City of Malvern Parks Committee, and have formed a new volunteer group Malvern Memory Makers. I also am the current Malvern Lions Club President and love being a part of our club.

I am proud to announce that I finished 70 hours of training with the Emerge Arkansas program. I am so honored to have been selected to participate the in 2023 Emerge Cohort and now get to call myself an Emerge Arkansas Alum. This program trains women all over the country how to run successful campaigns and to serve their communities holding public offices. I am looking forward to working in campaigns of my cohorts and in running my own campaign.
I will begin asking for donations for my Mayoral run and welcome your donations to my campaign. Email to see how you can contribute!
I finished the Hot Spring County Leadership forum as part of Class X 2023. This local program accepts citizens from all over our county from different backgrounds and teaches leadership skills, helps build networks and discover the advantages from serving in leadership roles within our community. I am honored to have been selected into this year's program and look forward to using the new skills and relationships to the advantage of our city.
You can find out more about this program at the Malvern Chamber of Commerce website. https://www.malvernchamber.com/leadership-forum
For the last several years I have had the opportunity to free lance writing for our local newspaper The Malvern Daily Record. Many years ago I co-hosted and produced a weekly radio show on local stations and wrote for my high school newspaper. This free lancing allows me to explore my love for news, journalism and writing while getting to help keep my community informed. You can find the Daily Record online at https://www.malvern-online.com/ Be sure and check out some of my articles and let me know what you think! If you have an idea for an article or a story that needs to be told please reach out to me. While my service work and family life have keep me busy and I have not been able to write very much recently; I am an every day reader of the MDR and appreciate all they do to bring the news to our county!
Malvern Memory Makers is a new volunteer group I have started with an amazing group of people that share my passion for making Malvern a better place to live and play. We are committed to hosting free events for families to come together and play and hang out together. We plan to utilize our city parks and free spaces to get local groups together to help put on free days of play. Find our facebook page for more info about happening events. Please reach out to me if you would like to help or donate to one of our events.
I am so honored to have been chosen for the University of Arkansas-Division of Agriculture's LeadAR leadership program. This elite group was chosen from many applicants and will spend the next 18 months meeting, networking and learning all over the state of Arkansas. We will be taking a trip to our nation's capital Washington DC and will end the program next year with an internation trip. Together we will learn from great leaders across our state and bring those skills home to our own communities. I am excited to learn all I can and bring those new lessons home to Malvern!
