Hello, I'm Megan!
I'm 20 years old and a local resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Since I was a little kid, I was always trying to get my hands on a new craft -- whether that be a coloring book or building a house with popsicle sticks. As I got older, I explored more and more hobbies, eventually finding a few particular favorites. (Although I still tend to bounce around a lot!)
During summer of 2021, I learned how to crochet a teddy bear from YouTube and I've been hooked on crocheting ever since. Shortly after, I decided to try my hand in sewing, and I came to love it! Although it was tricky at first, I persevered and became more skillful with my sewing machine.
Pottery is most definitely a favorite of mine as well. I started with the foundational basics in high school and was able to advance my skills when I took my first college ceramics class. I continued on to an advanced studio class the next semester and have continued to make pottery in my down time. I'm a very kinesthetic and tactile person, so it's very rewarding for me to be able to create a physical item as opposed to painting or drawing.
My favorite part about art is that I can use my creative ideas to make functional items, whether that be garments I can wear on a regular basis, bags I can use when I go out, or pots for my plants. (Stuffed animals are a personal favorite that I love to make too!)
I hope others may be able to use and love all the items that I enjoy making by hand!
