Megan's program of research focuses on holistic (mind, body, spirit) symptom management for individuals with serious illnesses. Her research has examined the impact of spirituality and catastrophizing on symptom experiences among people with cancer, equitable provision of psilocybin-assisted therapy for holistic cancer-related symptom management, spiritual/existential care needs for oncology providers, and more.
This work has been supported by funding from the American Nurses Foundation (ANF), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) Foundation, the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA), the UW-Madison Transdiscipliary Center for Research in Psychoactive Substances, and the UW-Carbone Cancer Center.
