人が自分の感情をコントロールする背景には、人が社会を生き抜くために持つ強さや、他を思いやるための優しさなど、人の生きる〈美しさ〉があると考えている。それを表現するため、人とは反対に本心のまま素直に生きる動物のシルエットに、作った笑顔をのせることで、人が見せる感情=表層と、見せない感情=深層の乖離を映し鏡のように動物を通して描く。
She believes that behind people's control of their emotions lies the “beauty” of human life, such as the strength that people have to survive in society and the kindness that they have to care for others.To express this, I put smiles on the silhouettes of animals that live honestly with their true feelings, as opposed to people, and depict the gap between the emotions that people show (the surface layer) and the emotions that they do not show (the depth layer) through animals as if they are mirrors.
