Creative Direction | Costume Design | Fashion Styling & Imaging
Profile
Graduating from the London College of Fashion as an award winning fashion designer with a first class honours degree, I have since worked on many diverse and exciting projects. I have produced my own collections, and have worked as a freelance stylist for Fashion Editorial and Advertising as well as in costume for film, television and performance for over 15 years. My experience in the Fashion Industry and in Fashion Education means that I can offer a wealth of knowledge and practical know-how.
It is important to me to be part of a team developing unique study programmes designed closely with the contemporary Fashion Industry in order to hone the student’s talents and transform them into innovative and confident designers, and to provide them with the opportunity to begin their creative careers with the best start possible.
All students should be excited and inspired by their potential during their time in education, and to take advantage of all the fantastic facilities we should make available to them, including collaborative work with other departments and schools as well as nurturing any existing directives of trans disciplinarily conceived projects.
I support traditional methods of construction and design as well as encouraging the development of advanced cutting edge technologies for Fashion, including the increasingly essential presence of all creative outputs within the digital landscape. I work continuously to embed professional knowledge into the curriculum and know how important it is that the students benefit from many prestigious visiting speakers from industry who should be there to offer them invaluable advice and support.
I am a firm believer that diversity and inclusivity play an integral role in the shaping of educational processes and should be part of developing innovative teaching and learning strategies that celebrate difference along with a strong foundation in professional practice and current research, in the field of fashion and in the wider contexts of art and culture.
