Modeling on Ecology and Evolution Workshop
Oct. 27- Oct. 29, 2022
KIAS, Seoul, South Korea
(on/offline hybrid workshop)
About the workshop
In recent decades, physics and mathematical tools have been used to unveil essential principles of forming ecological communities. Modeling ecology and evolution, Korean researchers have also uncovered fundamental mechanisms that shape community compositions, addressing the emergence of cooperation, the role of interaction structure on ecosystems, sex ratio, and various problems. However, there was a lack of chances to gather and exchange our ideas. In this workshop, we assemble Korean scientists studying ecology and evolution to listen to recent research questions and learn approaches to answer them. One step further, we build and enhance the connections abroad, enlarging the research community.
The topics relevant to the workshop include:
Evolutionary game theory
Population genetics
Heterogeneous interaction structures
Microbial population dynamics
Evolution of multicellularity
Cancer dynamics
