Meet Pastor Ron

Here are some resources, including a short video where I introduce myself.

A little about me …

I grew up near St. Louis, just North of Granite City, IL. Although I went to college for Math, even have a Masters degree from Iowa State, God showed up and changed my life. I went to Eden Theological Seminary. After two years, I did an internship at La Porte Community Church near Houston. When I returned to finish my degree, I had all my field ed completed so I took a two point charge at Holy Ghost UCC in Darmstadt, IL and Trinity UCC in Biddleborn, IL while completing my last year at Eden. After graduating, I was called to Friedens Church near Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park in Texas, a large rural church where I served for 8 years. It was at Friedens that I met my wife and started a family, adopting two children, Ben (now age 14) and Aaron (now age 11). From there, my family and I felt the call to start a new congregation, Hope United, in Georgetown, TX, which has grown to be a vibrant, mission-oriented congregation that is self-sufficient. I am now a single dad, having lost my wife to ovarian cancer last year.

Although I have been successful as a church planter, starting something new, and have even offered guidance in new church development, I give thanks to God that I have been called to Lake Ozark Christian Church.

I’ve included two sermons here, but you can also find my weekly sermons at Hope United’s website.

I’ve also included a Reader’s Theater message. You might find it strange to watch a bunch of people from Hope United read a script from a scene in the Bible when you are interested in me. But I wrote it, and it is another way to share the Gospel. Drama has a way of engaging us, and I am blessed to see my work performed.
