We will be using a colored “clip chart” to monitor poor behavior choices. We also use a good choice sticker chart to award good choices.
Green
You will get to start out each day on green. This means you are ready to participate and learn. You will always receive a warning before moving a clip down. If you have to clip down, you have an opportunity to clip back up for making better choices. If you are on green at the end of the day you earn a sticker on your behavior chart.
Yellow
If you receive a second behavior warning, you will move your clip down to yellow. This is to help you remember to slow down and think about your choices.
Red
If you still need to be spoken to a third time, you will move to red. You will miss an entire recess or activity. You will complete a “Behavior Reflection” for a parent to sign. Two or more consecutive red days result in a possible visit to the principal. A student will be moved directly to red if they physically hurt someone or use inappropriate language. This will result in parent contact and a visit to the principal for further disciplinary action.
Students recieve stickers for making "good choices". This could be sitting quietly, walking in the hallway nicely, going above and beyond,or participating in class.
In our classroom, students get the oppurtunity to sit at tables. As a table, students work together to earn a tally. Tables can earn tallies by being ready the quickest, being the quietest and on task, or cleaning up the quickest. The table with the most tallies earn a "Lucky Lunch" with their teachers.
As a class, students work to fill up the Superstar Jar in the front of the room. If the class is working above and beyond or having a really great day, they will be able to put a star in the jar. Once, the jar is filled they can earn a class reward of choice!
