My name is Monica Meeks. I’m a wife, a mom, and a Soldier for life. I’ve proudly called Montgomery County home for 17 years.
I hold a graduate degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University, and I’ve served our state through roles at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury, and the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
I’m running for Montgomery County Circuit Court Clerk because our courthouse should connect equally with every member of our community. Too often, some of our youth receive special access or tours because of who their parents are, while others only encounter the courtroom when they’re in trouble or when someone they love is. That imbalance matters.
To create real change, we must understand how the system works so it can work for everyone. The Circuit Court has seven divisions—Administration, Civil, Criminal, Traffic, Records/Archives, Juvenile, and Jury Administration—and every day, people find themselves in one of these courts without the knowledge or support to navigate them.
Good leadership matters. The Circuit Court Clerk helps the entire court system function, and it’s time for something new—someone new. The Clerk’s office is the backbone of the courthouse, and I’m running to bring fairness, transparency, and meaningful change to a system that should serve all its citizens.
Let’s get to work.
