Dr. Rajith Manan

Rajith is originally from India and obtained his B.S. from Kakatiya University and M.S. from Osmania University, India. After working in analytical chemistry at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company, he moved to the US to pursue graduate studies in Dr. Pinjing Zhao’s lab at North Dakota State University. His dissertation research is about utilizing internal alkynes as the building blocks for atom-efficient synthesis of bio-medically important amine and N-heterocyclic compounds by C-H activation and Hydroamination reactions. Upon completing his Ph.D. in 2016 he joined the Meek lab at UNC, Chapel Hill as a postdoctoral researcher. Outside of the lab, he enjoys spending time watching cricket and movies.
