All conference events take place at the Mark Jefferson Science Complex.

Saturday, March 28

8 AM: Conference check-in opens 

9 - 9:30 AM: Coffee Hour with pastries (coffee from Roos Roast) - MJ First Floor Hallway

10 AM - 11:30 PM: Oral presentation session I - MJ Hall

12 - 1 PM: Lunch and socializing - MJ Hall - Mediterranean feast: chicken, rice, roasted sweet potatoes and cauliflower, salad, pita & hummus

1 - 2 PM: Plenary Speaker: Tom Duda, Ph.D.,  Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Curator of Molluscs at the University of Michigan.

"Incidental insights into the evolutionary history and intraspecific variation in body size of cone snails" 

2:30 - 4 PM: Poster session I

4:30  - 6 PM: Workshops!

a) R Workshop - MJ 152 - Dr. Brian Ohsowksi - Professor of Environmental Sustainability at Loyola University Chicago

- Bring your own laptop! Please come to the session with QGIS downloaded. Any data packages will be sent in advance.

b) Professional Development Workshop - MJ 154 - Dr. Suzanne Lang - Interim Vice Provost for Academic Human Resources at Michigan State University and Scholar of Plant Physiology.

8 PM: Painting pots and potting plants in the greenhouse!

8 - 9:30 AM: Guided ecology hike in the Nichols Arboretum - Ann Arbor, MI

10:30 AM -  12 PM: Poster session II

11 AM - 12 PM: Oral presentation session II

12 - 1 PM: Lunch and socializing -MJ 1st Floor- Southwest: chicken and tofu fajitas, Spanish rice, black beans, flour tortillas, chips & toppings

1 - 2 PM: Education and Careers in Ecology Panel: With Kyler Moran (Conservation); Liz White (Private Sector); Dr. Gavin Edwards (EMU Professor of Environmental Chemistry); Dr. Kristin Judd (EMU Professor of Ecology), Yu Kai Tan (University of Michigan, PhD Candidate), Mathew Jackson (Eastern Michigan University, Master's Student), Grace Halcrow (Eastern Michigan University, Master's Student)
