If you want a lightweight, low-latency transmitter that pairs seamlessly with your AirPods for crisp video playback without lip-sync issues, choose MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight; if you need massive battery endurance, support for hearing aids via Auracast, and the ability to stream to an unlimited number of devices simultaneously, choose SUNITEC Airplane.
• MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight: Delivers ultra-low latency aptX audio for lag-free viewing on short trips, but limits simultaneous connections to just two headphones and offers only 20 hours of battery life.
• SUNITEC Airplane: Boasts an impressive 35-hour battery, supports next-gen Auracast broadcasting to unlimited devices, and works with hearing aids, though it lacks the specific low-latency focus of its competitor for single-user video work.
• Who is this for? The MEE pick suits solo travelers and vloggers prioritizing perfect sync on short flights, while the SUNITEC model fits families, groups, or frequent flyers who need all-day power and accessibility features.
The MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight is engineered for the user who values precision over volume when streaming content. Its standout feature is the inclusion of aptX Low Latency technology, which is critical for anyone trying to watch movies or, specifically, review footage for vlogging. When you are editing or reviewing video clips from a plane's entertainment system, even a fraction of a second of audio delay can be distracting. This device bridges the gap between standard 3.5mm jacks and Bluetooth headphones, ensuring the sound stays perfectly locked to the visuals.
This unit is also ideal for the minimalist traveler who needs something pocket-sized. Weighing in at just 17 grams and measuring roughly 1.5 by 0.6 inches, it slips easily into a jacket pocket or a small toiletry bag. It is designed to handle up to two Bluetooth headphones at once, making it perfect for couples traveling together who both want to listen to the same movie without needing a splitter cable. The battery life of 20 hours is sufficient for most cross-country or international red-eye flights, and the device can be used while charging via USB-C, so you never have to worry about it dying mid-flight.
However, you should skip this product if you plan on sharing audio with a group larger than two people, or if you are traveling with family members who use hearing aids. While it works well with standard Bluetooth headsets and AirPods, it does not support the newer Auracast broadcast standard required for those specific use cases. If your primary goal is simply to get high-fidelity, synchronized audio to your own ears or one companion's ears, this is the tool for the job.

The SUNITEC Airplane adapter targets a broader, more future-proof audience. Its defining characteristic is the integration of Auracast and LE Audio (Low Energy Audio) capabilities. This isn't just a standard Bluetooth transmitter; it is a broadcast hub. You can connect to unlimited Auracast-enabled devices simultaneously. This makes it an excellent choice for group travel, where you might have three or four friends wanting to listen to the same movie on their own earbuds, or for parents managing multiple children's tablets and headphones during a long journey.
Furthermore, this device stands out significantly for its battery capacity. With a lithium-polymer battery providing up to 35 hours of playtime, it far exceeds the lifespan of the MEE alternative. Whether you are taking a multi-leg trip across continents or using the device as a daily commuter solution for gym equipment and office computers, you will likely charge it once every few days rather than after every flight. It also features a specialized mode for hearing aids, allowing users to switch from solid blue to orange LED to pair directly with compatible hearing devices without the usual Bluetooth pairing friction.
For content creators, the SUNITEC offers versatility in audio codecs. It supports aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, which deliver high-definition audio quality, alongside the standard SBC codec. While it supports low-latency modes, its primary strength lies in its range and connectivity flexibility rather than singular focus on video sync. If you need a robust, long-lasting solution that handles everything from standard headphones to modern hearing aids and group broadcasts, this is the superior hardware investment.
• Best for video synchronization and vlogging: Choose MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight due to its dedicated aptX Low Latency support, which minimizes the risk of lip-sync errors when watching or reviewing video content.
• Best for battery longevity: Choose SUNITEC Airplane, offering 35 hours of continuous playback compared to the MEE's 20 hours, ensuring you won't run out of power on long-haul journeys.
• Best for group listening: Choose SUNITEC Airplane, as it supports Auracast broadcasting to unlimited devices, whereas the MEE is strictly limited to two simultaneous connections.
• Best for accessibility: Choose SUNITEC Airplane, given its specific configuration for hearing aids and support for LC3 audio codecs designed for lower energy consumption and better clarity for assistive devices.
• Best for portability and weight: Choose MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight, weighing only 17 grams compared to the SUNITEC's heavier build, making it easier to carry in a tight space.
• Best for audiophile-grade sound quality: Choose SUNITEC Airplane, which supports aptX HD and aptX Adaptive for higher resolution audio streams compared to the standard aptX Low Latency on the MEE.
• Best for simplicity: Choose MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight if you only need to connect one or two standard Bluetooth headphones to a TV or airplane jack without configuring complex broadcast modes.
• Best for durability and materials: Both use durable plastics (ABS for SUNITEC, generic plastic for MEE), but the SUNITEC's slightly larger chassis may offer more protection for internal components during rough handling.
After weighing the specifications and real-world use cases, I would buy the SUNITEC Airplane for my personal collection. While the MEE audio unit has a strong case for its low-latency performance, the sheer utility of the SUNITEC's 35-hour battery life and Auracast capability makes it a more versatile tool for modern travel. In my opinion, the ability to share audio with unlimited devices and the extended power reserve outweighs the marginal latency benefits of the MEE, especially since the SUNITEC still supports high-quality aptX Adaptive codecs. However, if your sole purpose is strictly for vlogging or watching videos alone and you prioritize zero-delay synchronization above all else, the MEE remains a very competent, albeit niche, choice.
Both units function as transmitters for wireless audio, but the MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight is specifically optimized for low-latency video playback, making it the safer bet for syncing audio to visual content without delays.
No, both devices come with the necessary adapters. The MEE includes 2-prong adapters for international flights, while the SUNITEC includes a dual-prong airplane adapter to fit standard dual-jack configurations.
Only the SUNITEC Airplane supports this feature directly through its Auracast mode and specific orange LED pairing instruction for hearing aids, whereas the MEE does not list hearing aid compatibility.
The SUNITEC Airplane offers significantly longer endurance with up to 35 hours of playtime, while the MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight provides up to 20 hours when connected to a single headphone.
