If you want a lightweight, dedicated transmitter built specifically for airplane entertainment systems with a proven track record of reliability and aptX Low Latency support for single-headphone setups, choose MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight; if you need a versatile 2-in-1 transmitter and receiver unit that handles car stereos and home audio alongside flights, choose Beeitzie Airplane.
• MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight: Strengths include a featherweight 17g design, up to 20 hours of battery life, and native aptX Low Latency support optimized for streaming from seatback screens. Trade-off is its singular focus as a transmitter, meaning it cannot receive audio from other sources like car stereos. This pick is for the traveler who prioritizes weight, flight-specific compatibility, and long-haul endurance.
• Beeitzie Airplane: Strengths lie in its dual-mode functionality (transmitter and receiver) and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, offering flexibility for use in cars, TVs, and gyms. Trade-off includes a heavier build and a strict limitation on audio formats when connecting two headphones simultaneously, forcing a switch to SBC only. This pick is for the tech enthusiast who wants one device to handle multiple environments beyond just flying.
The MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight is engineered with a singular, clear purpose: bridging the gap between legacy 3.5mm jacks and modern wireless headphones. If you are someone who travels frequently and finds yourself constantly fumbling with wired adapters or frustrated by the lack of Bluetooth on older aircraft, this device solves that problem instantly. Its design philosophy centers on minimalism and portability. At just 1.5 inches by 0.6 inches by 1.8 inches and weighing only 17 grams, it disappears into your pocket or earbud case without adding any noticeable bulk. This is critical for the frequent flyer who packs light or carries gear in tight overhead bins where every gram counts.
For those seeking the best sleep headphones for webinars or long-haul flights, the battery performance here is a standout feature. This duration easily covers even the longest red-eye flights or multi-leg international journeys without needing a recharge. Even if you decide to pair two headphones for a partner, the battery still holds out for 15 hours, which is substantial enough for most travel scenarios. The ability to use the device while charging via its lithium-ion battery adds another layer of convenience, ensuring you never run dry mid-flight.
However, this product is not a universal solution for every audio setup. It is strictly a transmitter. You plug it into the 3.5mm jack of an in-flight entertainment system, gym treadmill, or gaming console, and it sends the signal out to your Bluetooth devices. It does not accept audio inputs from external sources to send elsewhere. Furthermore, while it supports aptX Low Latency for lag-free audio, this benefit is fully realized primarily when paired with aptX-enabled receivers. If you are looking for a neckband headphone for webinars that requires two-way audio processing or needs to act as a receiver for a car stereo, this unit will not serve that function. It is a specialized tool for a specific job: getting your own audio wirelessly onto a screen or machine that lacks Bluetooth capability.

The Beeitzie Airplane adapter takes a different approach, positioning itself as a versatile hub rather than a single-purpose tool. It is designed for users who want one gadget to cover their transportation, home, and gym audio needs. The standout feature here is the "2-in-1" capability. Unlike the MEE unit, which only transmits, the Beeitzie can also operate in Receiver mode. This allows you to connect it to a non-Bluetooth source, like an old car stereo or a television with RCA outputs, and stream that audio to your Bluetooth headphones. This makes it an excellent choice for the road warrior who transitions from flying to driving to relaxing at home without wanting to carry multiple dongles.
In terms of connectivity, this unit leverages Bluetooth 5.4, which generally promises more stable connections and better range than older generations. However, buyers must be aware of the trade-offs involved in this versatility. When you utilize the Dual Link mode to connect two headphones simultaneously—a common scenario for couples traveling together—the audio format is locked to SBC. This means you lose the potential for high-fidelity lossless compression or aptX Low Latency benefits during shared listening. If you are using the device for webinars where clarity and low latency are paramount, and you are pairing two people, this limitation could impact the experience compared to a single-device setup.
The physical construction uses Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), making it durable but slightly larger and heavier than the plastic enclosure of the MEE unit. While it offers 24 hours of working time, the energy content is significantly lower at 1 watt-hour compared to the MEE unit's 180 watt-hours (which seems to be a data anomaly in the sheet, but the listed charge time is consistent at 2 hours). The key decision point here is whether you value the ability to interface with car stereos and RCA inputs enough to accept the format limitations when sharing audio with a second person. It is ideal for the user who treats their audio gear as a mobile station rather than a flight-specific accessory.
• Best for Battery Endurance on Long Flights → MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight: With up to 20 hours of playtime on a single connection, it is superior for extended travel sessions where recharging isn't an option.
• Best for Multi-Environment Flexibility → Beeitzie Airplane: Its ability to switch between Transmitter and Receiver modes makes it the only viable choice for users who need to bridge audio gaps in cars, home theaters, and flights.
• Best for Single Headphone High-Fidelity → MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight: It maintains aptX Low Latency capabilities for a single connection, whereas the Beeitzie forces a downgrade to SBC when two headphones are linked.
• Best for Weight and Portability → MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight: At 17 grams, it is significantly lighter and more compact than the Beeitzie unit, making it less intrusive in a carry-on bag.
• Best Value for Mixed Audio Needs → Beeitzie Airplane: If you plan to use the device for car audio, TV, and flights, the extra cost is justified by the additional receiver functionality.
• Best for Travelers Using Two Headphones → Beeitzie Airplane (with caveats): While both support two devices, the Beeitzie offers the Dual Link mode explicitly, even if it restricts the codec to SBC.
• Best for Simplicity and Plug-and-Play → MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight: Its design is straightforward: plug into the aux jack, pair your headphones, and go. No complex mode switching required.
• Best for Tech Enthusiasts Seeking Latest Standards → Beeitzie Airplane: Featuring Bluetooth 5.4, it represents a newer generation of wireless connectivity standards compared to the previous generation implied in the MEE specs.
I would personally buy the MEE audio Connect Air in-Flight if my primary goal was reliable, high-quality audio streaming for webinars or long-haul flights. The combination of its ultra-lightweight form factor, the specific optimization for 3.5mm airline jacks, and the impressive 20-hour battery life creates a product that feels tailored exactly to the traveler's needs. The ability to maintain aptX Low Latency for a single connection ensures that lip-sync issues don't ruin movie watching or webinar participation. While the Beeitzie is a capable all-rounder, the format restrictions when using two headphones and its larger size make it feel more like a general-purpose adapter than a premium travel companion. For anyone prioritizing comfort, flight-specific performance, and battery longevity, the MEE audio unit is the clear winner in my opinion.
Both devices work with standard 3.5mm aux jacks found on most in-flight entertainment systems, though older analog-only screens might require checking for active power delivery to the transmitter jack.
The MEE audio unit supports aptX Low Latency to minimize delay, but the Beeitzie unit notes that delay may occur if your headphones do not support aptX-LL or Adaptive technology, and AirPods specifically do not support aptX-LL.
Only the Beeitzie Airplane can function as a receiver to pull audio from a car stereo or home audio system; the MEE audio Connect Air is designed strictly as a transmitter.
Both the MEE audio and Beeitzie units list a battery charge time of approximately 2 hours, so a quick top-up before heading to the airport is usually sufficient.
