Since students often ask for extra-curricular resources, we've partnered with several great organizations to help them enhance their application, gain valuable experiences and stand out.
Global Medical Brigades is an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. We work in under-resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Guatemala, Ghana, Belize, and Greece who would otherwise have limited to no access to health care. Medical Brigades are 7 to 9-day trips that support our sustainable in-country medical clinics. We provide students the ability to observe and participate in medical care at our rural mobile clinics.
At the Council for Global Health Scholars (CGHS), our goal is to help students stand out as leaders in healthcare, not only advancing their careers but also making a meaningful difference in the world. The fellowship model is critical in achieving this by providing students the opportunity to take on real-world healthcare challenges. Unlike internships, which offer limited scope, fellowships are outcome-driven and focus on research, innovation, and hands-on experience.
The High School Alliance of Future Physicians (HSAFP) connects high school students all over the country with the resources and support they need to pursue a career in medicine. Through our nationwide network of club chapters, physicians, and college advisors, students learn about healthcare, receive college application support, and gain hands-on medical experience.
