You understand that any message or information you send to the Site may be read or intercepted by others, even if there is a special notice that a particular transmission (for example, credit card information) is encrypted.

Medline will take measures to secure and protect all health information by maintaining administrative, technical and physical safeguards within the app. Users have ownership and control over the health information they input into the app. All accounts will require two factor authentication at app setup. Health information input into the app, excluding the user login information necessary to maintain app security, will be stored locally on the user’s device. A User can opt in to storing their information in the application’s cloud storage once this feature is activated by the user. Users may choose to share their data with approved organizations by exporting their Medline Mobile Health App data at their discretion. Medline does not access, view, or otherwise interact with user health information, and is not liable for any issues or breaches that arise from a user exporting their data.

Location Permission

Google recently made some global updates to their software tools, and now requires that any app that uses Bluetooth also be granted location access. This is because Bluetooth can be used for lots of things. We use it to scan for Medline approved Bluetooth devices and pair them with your phone. Medline Health app requires location to be enabled on your phone or tablet to connect to Medline approved Bluetooth devices so that it can be scanned and retrieve data from the device. The application will not be able to retrieve any measurement readings from the device if the location permission is not granted. We do not track and use users location. Location will remain enabled even when the app is not running on the foreground. We need this to frequently check for the connected device and retrieve readings from the device when a reading is available.

Missed out on enabling location access the first time? You can always do it later by going to your phone’s Settings > Apps & notifications > Medline Health > Permissions. (This menu may differ from device to device, Android version to version.)

We use Bluetooth to connect to your Medline devices — accept location access and you’ll be good to go.

IMPORTANT: Android devices running OS version 6.x and later also require that Location/GPS Services be turned on for a Bluetooth scan to be successful. If no Medline devices are found during the scan, go to Settings on your Android device, turn on Location/GPS, restart the Joule app and attempt to pair again.
