These terms and privacy policy govern your use of the Medis Assets services, as amended from time to time by Medis Technologies, and constitutes as a binding agreement between Medis Assets and you.
Information We Collect
We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, and information volunteered by the consumer (such as survey information and/or site registrations). When you register for Medis Assets we ask for information such as your name, email address, and other relevant details.
How We Use Your Information
It is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by law.
We transfer information about you if Medis Assets is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, Medis Assets will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specifically:
• Account data (name, email address, and profile information) is retained for the duration of your account and for up to 12 months after account closure, to allow for account reactivation and to comply with legal obligations.
• Usage and session data (including cookies and access logs) is retained for a maximum of 90 days, after which it is automatically purged from our systems.
• Billing and transactional records are retained for a minimum of 5 years in accordance with applicable financial and tax regulations.
• Email communications sent to our support address may be retained for up to 24 months for quality assurance and dispute resolution purposes
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data:
• Send an email to support@medis.co.za with the subject line "Data Deletion Request", including your registered email address and full name.
• Upon receipt of a verified request, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records).
• You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion has been completed.
Please note that some data may remain in encrypted backup archives for up to 90 days following deletion, after which it will be permanently purged as part of our standard backup rotation schedule
Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are required to use the Medis Assets service. We use cookies to record current session information, but do not use permanent cookies. You are required to re-login to your Medis Assets account after a certain period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing your account contents.
Third-Party Vendors and Hosting
Medis Assets uses third-party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run Medis Assets. Although Medis Assets owns the code, databases, and all rights to the Medis Assets application, you retain all rights to your data.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Medis Assets may disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when your actions violate the Terms of Service.
Changes to This Policy
Medis Assets may periodically update this policy. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your Medis Assetsprimary account holder account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
