This Privacy Policy describes how MediMate (the "App" or "Service"), operated by the Owner/Developer (referred to herein as "we," "us," or "our"), handles and protects the information you provide when using our mobile application.
We are committed to maintaining a strict policy of minimizing the collection of personally identifiable information (PII).
We DO NOT collect or store:
Your name, email address, phone number, physical address, date of birth, or any other personal identifiers, except for the anonymous, non-identifying user ID provided by your chosen third-party sign-in service (Google or Apple).
Your IP address or device identifiers for tracking purposes by us. (See Section 5 for Ad Networks).
We collect two primary types of information necessary for the operation of the Service:
When you log into MediMate using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive an anonymous, unique user identifier (the "User ID") from that third-party service.
Purpose: This User ID is used solely to authenticate your access, link your health data to your specific account, and keep your data separate from other users. We do not use this ID to identify you personally outside of the App.
The core function of MediMate requires you to input specific health information. This data is stored securely and is considered sensitive:
Types of Data Collected:
Current Medications (including dosage and frequency).
Allergies (drug, food, environmental).
Past Medical History.
We use the User ID and User-Inputted Health Data strictly for the following purposes:
To Provide Service Functionality: To link the Content Data to your account so you can view and manage your profile.
AI Analysis and Chatbot Function: To feed your Content Data into our integrated AI system to generate specific, personalized outputs, including:
Adverse effects.
Contraindications.
Drug-drug interactions.
Pertinent counseling information.
Answering your questions via the AI chatbot.
Service Improvement (Anonymized): We may use Content Data in an aggregated and anonymized fashion to monitor, analyze, and improve the performance and accuracy of our AI models and the overall Service functionality. This data is stripped of all association with your User ID before being used for improvement.
Monetization through Advertising: We use aggregated and anonymized demographic or usage data to select and display relevant advertisements from third-party ad networks within the App.
We respect your privacy and commit to the following:
No Sale or Marketing: We do not sell, rent, or lease your User ID or your Content Data to any third parties for general marketing or commercial purposes.
Service Providers & Ad Networks: We may share data with third-party service providers (such as hosting and database services, e.g., Google Firebase) and Third-Party Ad Networks necessary to securely store, process your data, and deliver advertisements. These parties are bound by confidentiality obligations and are prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing the agreed-upon services.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
When you use the Service, third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob) may collect certain non-personally identifiable information about your device and your usage of the app (e.g., device type, operating system, time spent in the app, frequency of use).
Purpose: This information is collected and used by the ad networks to serve targeted advertisements based on your interests and general demographics, which helps us generate revenue.
Tracking Technologies: These third-party ad networks may use cookies, pixels, or device advertising identifiers (like IDFA on iOS or Advertising ID on Android) to track ad views and clicks.
The security of your Content Data is important to us. We employ commercially acceptable means and modern database security standards (such as data encryption in transit and at rest) to protect your User ID and Content Data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
MediMate is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from children without verified parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Because we do not collect PII, your primary rights pertain to the health data you input:
Access and Modification: You can access, review, modify, or delete all of your Content Data directly within the App at any time.
Data Deletion: If you delete your account, all associated User-Inputted Health Data linked to your User ID will be permanently deleted from our primary servers within a reasonable timeframe.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
