Legionary posted 01 December 2006 11:17 EDT (US) 4 / 15 i had them in a costum game once, they arent realy useful for blasting a specific group of units, but with 72 missiles every volley and each direct hit can kill 3-4 soldiers they are very powerful in crowded spots like town squaresin the campaign they are just to annoy you, because the very randomly flying projectiles tend to destroy alot of civilian buildings FactionHeir

Legionary posted 01 December 2006 12:51 EDT (US) 5 / 15 When I saw the topic title I thought it referred to trying to unlock the Timurids. But there is an actual rocket launcher in the game?

If so, which faction get access to it? I haven't seen it in the custom game playable factions when I was comparing pros&cons of each faction. Elrond89

Legionary posted 01 December 2006 15:52 EDT (US) 6 / 15 I know the mongols have it. Some Christian factions have a similar weapon, the ribault/organ gun. It is more lethal, and fires mutliple projectiles.Crusade! Our brothers in the East need out swords to subdue the Infidel! The Saracen defiles the Sepulchre and is at the gates of the Roman emperor!.  Legionary posted 01 December 2006 17:31 EDT (US) 7 / 15 The rocket launcher is really good against walls mostly. When I was fighting against the Mongols, they blew away my walls with those stupid missles all over. And they also took out quite a few men in the process too. AFF92

Legionary posted 02 December 2006 01:15 EDT (US) 8 / 15 Nice, so the Christian factions have organ guns? Never seen those before.TAD ROX Mechstra

I tried deleting the cache, running the game as admin, reinstalling the game nothing works.(for both games) When I try and start the launcher directly it just opens steam store to the 3 kingdoms page

The launcher has three key features: the Game menu, the Store, and the Mod Manager. These will change the information they show depending on whether you own a specific game or not.

This section of the launcher shows you all the content related to a specific Total War game including all available DLC and FLC. Clicking on a specific piece of content will link you straight to the Steam store, with the launcher reacting to your current ownership status of each game.

The hwacha or hwach'a (Korean: ; Hanja: ; literally "fire cart") was a multiple rocket launcher and an organ gun of similar design which were developed in fifteenth century Korea. The former variant fired one or two hundred rocket-powered arrows while the latter fired several dozen iron-headed arrows or bolts out of gun barrels. The term was used to refer to other war wagons or other cart-based artillery in later periods, such as that developed by Byeon Yijung in the 1590s. These weapons wer...

Before getting to the expansion, Total War: MEDIEVAL II has been updated twice since launch with a ton of fixes and enhancements. A few months ago, the iPhone notch issue was resolved alongside improving End Turn speeds. That update also improved mouse and keyboard support. Alongside the Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms expansion, another big update was released for the base game last week. This update added an in-game launcher for the unique campaigns, a Settlement Viewer, the ability to rename settlements, and other fixes. With these updates, even those who only own the base game get a much better experience now compared to what I played at launch day earlier in the year.

When you launch the game and buy the DLC, you have the option to either download all the campaigns together, or get individual ones if you want to save space on your device. The total installation for all the campaigns is a little over 7.5GB in addition to what the base game uses on your device. You can uninstall individual campaigns if you need to as well once you finish them to free up space.

A multiple rocket launcher (MRL) or multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) is a type of rocket artillery system that contains multiple launchers which are fixed to a single platform, and shoots its rocket ordnance in a fashion similar to a volley gun. Rockets are self-propelled in flight and have different capabilities than conventional artillery shells, such as longer effective range, lower recoil, typically considerably higher payload than a similarly sized gun artillery platform, or even carrying multiple warheads.

Unguided rocket artillery is notoriously inaccurate and slow to reload compared to gun artillery. A multiple rocket launcher helps compensate for this with its ability to launch multiple rockets in rapid succession, which, coupled with the large kill zone of each warhead, can easily deliver saturation fire over a target area. However, modern rockets can use GPS or inertial guidance to combine the advantages of rockets with the higher accuracy of precision-guided munitions.

The first multiple rocket launchers were invented during the medieval Chinese Song dynasty, in which the Chinese fire lance was fixed backward on a pike or arrow and shot at an enemy as early as 1180.[1] This form of rocket was used during the Mongol siege of Kaifeng.[2]

Chinese militaries later created multiple rocket launchers that fired up to 100 small fire-arrow rockets simultaneously. The typical powder section of the arrow-rockets was 1/3 to 1/2 ft (10 to 15 cm) long. Bamboo arrow shafts varied from 1.5 ft (45 cm) to 2.5 ft (75 cm) long and the striking distance reached 300 to 400 paces. The Chinese also enhanced rocket tips with poison and made sure that the launchers were mobile. They designed a multiple rocket launcher to be carried and operated by a single soldier.[2] Various forms of MRLs evolved, including a launcher mounted on a wheelbarrow.[1]

European armies preferred relatively large single-launch rockets prior to World War II. Napoleonic armies of both sides followed the British adoption of Mysorean rockets as the Congreve rocket. These were explosive steel-cased bombardment rockets with minimal launchers. European navies developed naval multiple launcher mounts with steadily improving explosive rockets for light and coastal vessels. These weapons were largely replaced by conventional light artillery during the late nineteenth century.

Another German halftrack MRL system was inspired by the Russian BM-13. Keeping the Soviet 82 mm rocket caliber as well as the launch and rocket stabilisation designs, it was developed into a system of two rows of 12 guide rails mounted to a Maultier chassis, each row providing the capacity for 24 rockets, underslung as well as on top of the rails, for 48 rockets total. This vehicle was designated 8 cm Raketen-Vielfachwerfer (8 cm multiple rocket launcher). As the launch system was inspired by and looked similar to the BM-13, which the Germans had nicknamed "Stalin-Orgel" or "Stalin-Organ", the Vielfachwerfer soon became known as the "Himmler-Orgel", or "Himmler-Organ".

Despite its name, the hand mortar is more of a grenade launcher, with a wide barrel, typically of bronze, mounted on a musket stock so that it can be fired from the shoulder. This method of delivery offers increased range, but the weapons are temperamental and prone to misfires or bursting. This, coupled with the variable quality of the grenades fired, means that in the wrong hands a hand mortar can often be as much of a danger to the man firing it as to the enemy. Despite this, the grenade is a useful battlefield weapon when used against enemies deployed in cover, or for clearing choke points. ff782bc1db
