Alejandro Recio is an Emergency Medicine resident physician with 19 years of EMS experience, specializing in critical care transport. Prior to medical school, he served as a flight paramedic and rescue specialist, including helicopter hoist operations over the Gulf of Mexico.
His work has taken him across diverse settings in Texas, Louisiana, Suriname, Haiti, Mexico, and Iraq. He is a board-certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C), Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP), Texas Licensed Paramedic, and an Advanced EMS Coordinator and Instructor in Texas.
Dr. Recio is an American Heart Association Faculty Instructor for BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ACLS-EP, and a NAEMT Coordinator/Instructor for PHTLS, AMLS, EPC, GEMS, and EMS Safety. He also serves as the lead instructor for all courses offered at MedicReview Training Center, where he is dedicated to advancing EMS education and professional development.
He holds an Associate Degree in EMS from Laredo College, a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Sciences from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and a Medical Degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara.
