Sangryeol Lee received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) and Ph.D. in Basic Veterinary Medicine from Chungnam National University, where he studied sex hormone associated proteins in liver and metabolic diseases. During his military service, he conducted research at the KRIBB on metabolic disease models and worked at Sovargen on RNA-based therapeutic strategies. He subsequently completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he investigated rare pancreatic cancer. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology at Dong-A University College of Medicine. Building on these experiences, his current research focuses on the role of skeletal muscle in diabetes and diabetic complications, with particular emphasis on its extension to sarcopenia and metabolic dysfunction.
