MediaDock saves Instagram media that you can already see in your own browser. It works entirely on your device. MediaDock does not collect, sell, share or transmit any personal data. There are no MediaDock servers, accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
The developer of MediaDock receives no information about you, your browsing, or the media you download.
To do its job, MediaDock reads website content on instagram.com: the photos and videos on the page, and the related post details (such as the account name and post date) used to name your files. This content is handled only inside your browser to show download buttons, crop, convert or compress the files you choose, and save them to your computer. It is never sent to the developer or to any third party, and it is not used for advertising, profiling or any other purpose.
To work, MediaDock keeps the following in Chrome's extension storage on your computer only:
Settings such as format, size, file name template, folders and on/off switches.
Download history: account name, date, number of files, format and compression level.
File name counters per account, so numbering continues (name-01, name-02 …).
A list of downloaded media IDs, only if you turn on “Skip media downloaded before”.
The current download queue, which is cleared when the browser closes.
You can delete this data at any time in MediaDock Settings (Clear history, Forget downloaded media, Reset filename numbers, Reset settings) or by removing the extension.
MediaDock only communicates with:
instagram.com. It reads the post and story data your Instagram tab already loads. When that data is missing for an item you chose, it may request that item's data from instagram.com using your existing browser session, exactly as the Instagram website does. This can be switched off in Settings.
Instagram's media servers (cdninstagram.com, fbcdn.net). It downloads the files you choose and reads their size to show it in the popup.
Images, videos, links, account names, browsing history and downloads are never sent to the developer or to any third party.
Cropping (9:16, 2:3), format conversion, compression, duplicate detection and ZIP creation all run locally inside your browser.
MediaDock does not bypass private accounts, login requirements, DRM or any other access control. If Instagram does not show a piece of media to your browser, MediaDock cannot save it.
MediaDock does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Please download only content you own or have permission to save, and respect creators' rights and Instagram's Terms of Use.
If MediaDock's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and users will be informed in the extension before the change takes effect.
