MediaDeck provides controls for HTML5 video and audio, including playback speed, replay and loops, saved timestamps, and sound and picture adjustments. It has no advertising, developer-operated analytics or telemetry, account system, or developer-operated data-collection server.
Information handled in your browser
To find and control players, MediaDeck processes the current page and frame URLs, domains, media source identifiers, media types, dimensions, duration, current playback position, speed, playback status, and information needed to decide which controls are available. For native caption navigation it reads the timing of caption cues already exposed by the player. It does not transcribe, download, or upload videos or create a general browsing-history record.
MediaDeck responds to its own configured keyboard shortcuts. It ignores editable fields and composition input and does not record ordinary typing or a keystroke history.
Page and media information is passed between the extension's components inside Chrome as needed to provide the controls. The developer does not receive it.
Information saved
Chrome Storage Sync: General preferences, appearance, playback-control options, shortcut assignments, and last-used sound and picture settings are saved using Chrome Storage Sync. Chrome may make these settings available in your other signed-in Chrome browsers when sync is enabled. Chrome and its sync service are governed by Google's policies. MediaDeck does not operate this service or receive the synced settings.
Chrome Storage Local:Site-specific speed preferences, whether to remember speed, page-toolbar visibility and position, and user-created saved moments are stored in this browser profile. A saved moment includes the page link, page title, an identifier for the media, timestamp, optional note, creation time, and a random identifier for editing or deletion. Common tracking, playback-time, and signed-URL parameters are removed where recognized; this is not a guarantee that every URL is free of sensitive information. These records are not sent to the developer or placed in Chrome Storage Sync by MediaDeck.
Saved moments are created only when you choose Save moment or its keyboard shortcut. Do not put passwords, payment details, private communications, or other sensitive information in moment notes. Local browser storage is not a password vault and MediaDeck does not add its own encryption layer.
Temporary player state, active loops/replays, and page metadata are kept in memory while the page or extension needs them.
Exports and links
When you export saved moments, MediaDeck creates a Markdown or JSON file on your device containing the saved page links, titles, timestamps, notes, and related record information. You control any later sharing of that file. Exports are not uploaded by MediaDeck.
Opening a saved page or the privacy-policy link navigates Chrome to that page. The destination site's own policies and ordinary network behavior apply.
Purpose, sharing, and limited use
Information is used only to provide MediaDeck's visible playback, appearance, sound, settings, and saved-moment features. The developer does not sell this information, use it for advertising, transfer it for unrelated purposes, or use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions. MediaDeck does not send it to a developer server. Chrome's settings sync and user-directed exports or navigation operate as described above.
If you contact the developer by email, your email provider and the developer's email provider process that communication. The developer uses information you voluntarily send to answer your request. Do not include private course links or sensitive information unless necessary for your question.
Retention and deletion
Preferences and saved moments remain until you change or delete them or Chrome removes the extension's storage. You can edit or delete individual notes, export moments, or choose Delete all saved moments in the Saved tab. Deleting inside MediaDeck does not remove export files you previously saved elsewhere. Site memory can be disabled in the Playback tab; the existing site record is retained so your choice is remembered. To remove all stored extension data, remove the extension from the relevant Chrome profile; synced settings may also be subject to Chrome's sync and account controls.
The developer cannot retrieve or delete your locally stored records remotely because MediaDeck does not transmit them to the developer. Browser-profile access, device backups, exported files, and Google's sync infrastructure are outside the extension's own storage controls.
Permissions and security
MediaDeck uses `storage` to save the information described above, `scripting` to load its bundled controls into eligible existing pages when needed, and site access to discover and adjust media across regular pages and permitted frames. All code, fonts, and logo assets are packaged locally; it does not execute remotely hosted code or request remote fonts. The page toolbar can load only its packaged logo and font through narrowly listed web-accessible asset paths. Chrome restricts access to browser pages and the Chrome Web Store. You can restrict site access using Chrome's extension settings, which can disable some automatic controls.
Changes
This policy may be updated when MediaDeck's behavior changes. The current version will be published at the privacy-policy URL linked from the Chrome Web Store and the extension. Questions can be sent to adhikarishivashis@gmail.com.
