"Social media activism is a way for people to talk about—and organize around—the issues that matter to them. Social media activism creates opportunities for grassroots movements to take shape and go further" (Woods, 2022).

Through the different courses that I have taken for my media and politics minor, I was able to delve into the complex relationship between media and politics and reflect on the political impact that social media exerted on people’s participation in various revolutions that took place in the Arab world. In this presentation, I will specifically be discussing the patterns of increased political activism that social media platforms have had on the Arab region.
