Travel:

To travel from Melbourne Airport take the shuttle bus to Southern Cross Train Station and then board a train to Bendigo. You'll need to purchase a Myki travel card from a kiosk before boarding the train. This card is necessary for all public transport in Victoria. From the city centre it's a 40 minute walk to La Trobe University, or 20 minute bus ride taking either the number 61,62,63 or 70 bus.
