We are honored to host Prof. Carlos Ordonez from the University of Houston for a special session titled:
“Parallel Systems to Compute Deep Neural Networks”
Date: August 13, 2025
Location: Elsewedy University of Technology Campus
Prof. Ordonez brings a wealth of experience from both academia and industry. With a background in applied math and computer science from UNAM and a PhD from Georgia Tech, his research bridges theory and practice in AI, parallel computing, and data mining.
He has collaborated with global leaders like Teradata, AT&T Labs, and MIT, where he worked alongside Turing Award winner Michael Stonebraker on next-gen database systems. Today, he leads the Data-Intensive Parallel Algorithms for AI group at the University of Houston, pushing the boundaries of scalable machine learning.
This is a fantastic opportunity to hear from one of the foremost voices in the field whether you're into deep learning, big data, or parallel computing, there’s something here for you.
