About Me

I have 20+ years of diverse experience of working at organizations of different scales and types -- startups, multinational companies, as well as academic institutions. Bulk of my experience is in databases, SQL and non-SQL query optimization, distributed systems, infrastructure for data science and ML libraries, and BI analytics tools. I can take up an open problem, research, and build the solution (coding and dev) to lead a new idea or product development. I am fluent in C/C++, Python, Java programming languages and Linux OS.

To my credit, during my PhD, I single-handedly developed a new system BitMat from scratch in C/C++ for processing queries on very large graphs. BitMat has over 500 research citations. It is used as a benchmark in several follow-up publications from reputed labs like IBM Watson, Stanford University, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). While developing the BitMat system, I also extended some of the theoretical properties of SQL query processing (see my work and publications).

During my PhD I interned at Oracle and IBM T. J. Watson lab, where my internship work was eventually published at research venues, patented, and integrated in their products. Before PhD, I spent four and half years in the industry as a software developer.
