Meet Dr. O

He is a physician who had to trade his stethoscope for a wheelchair. Medical trips to remote areas of third-world countries often required him to ride his motorcycle to help underserved areas, but even when an accident left him paralyzed, his dedication to advancing the medical field didn't subside.

Motivated by Dr.O's battle with paralysis, our team started Medbility to help him and millions of others with similar conditions. With countless hours of research and brainstorming, our technologies can now serve as the haptic intermediary that improves quality of life and medical care for those with limited mobility and sensation.

Kristina graduated from UC Berkeley with Distinction and Honors, and is currently in her graduate studies for Bioengineering at UC San Diego. She has drawn inspiration from her relations to the medical field and has utilized her studies in biomedical engineering to efficiently and affordably build solutions to help those with paralysis. She believes that every good engineering solution begins with elegantly functional design that is purposed around a defined problem. In her words "You cannot build a solution first and then search for the problem later. You have to find the core frustrations and have a motivation to help people. Then the work will fall into place."

Dr. Chan completed a B.S in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, an M.D. from the University of Florida, and completed his medical residency at Stanford University in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has practiced medicine for over twenty years and has worked with individuals with paralysis and other similar conditions. His insights and expertise have bolstered the efficacy and ergonomics of our technologies and designs.
