About Us

MECRO (Moorish Economic Cultural Representative Organization) is a community-driven leadership body dedicated to the economic and cultural restoration of our people. We believe that true freedom is built on the foundation of Restorative Citizenship, moving beyond temporary charity toward permanent economic standing. Our Philadelphia chapter, located at 1354 E Lycoming Ave, serves as a hub for stewardship and civic empowerment.

We are currently spearheading the '68-26 Initiative', a movement to fulfill the unaddressed mandates of the 1968 Economic Bill of Rights. Our programs are designed to prove the feasibility of a national "Sustenance Hub" model, ensuring that every citizen has the tools and resources required for a life of liberty and self-sufficiency.

Program Details & Language

Food Drives: Our Sustenance Hubs are designed to move toward a 24-hour access model. We provide high-quality, nutritious resources to ensure no member of our community faces hunger while pursuing their civic duties.

Clothes Giveaways: We distribute quality clothing with dignity. This program ensures that every individual has the attire necessary to present themselves with the pride and honor befitting their restored status.

Park Clean Ups: We take direct responsibility for our local green spaces. By maintaining our parks with our own supplies, we demonstrate the power of self-governance and environmental stewardship.

Scholarships: We provide financial support to students who demonstrate a commitment to civic leadership and community service, bridging the gap between education and economic autonomy.
