Mission Statement, Policies and Procedures
The mission of the MECPS Library is to provide students with ample support in becoming lifelong learners and informed creators of information by fostering growth in their intellectual freedom. We strive to encourage our students to become responsible consumers of digital information and ethical users of the internet. By providing an abundance of high quality resources and materials for browsing, we aim to foster independent reading in our students and support their ambitions in becoming critical thinkers for life while ensuring equal access to resources. We aim to ensure that our library is representative of all students through the materials available on our shelves and through our commitment to be inclusive, culturally aware and free of discrimination and bias on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, or national or ethnic origin.
Patrons can check out up to two books at a time. The loan period is 14 days from the date in which the book is checked out from the library. Students will not be fined for late books but consistent lateness and inability to return checked out books will result in loss of checkout privileges.
Lost books have a replacement fee of $5.00 for softcover books and $10.00 for hardcover books. Financial burdens are considered! Please speak to Ms. Abdallah with any questions and/or concerns.
