The application also requires access to the user’s device location in order to display nearby garages and towing service providers on the map. Location information is used only to show relevant service providers within a selected or current area and to ensure proper functioning of the map interface.

For service partners such as garages and towing service providers, we collect business-related details during registration. This includes business name, contact number, and business location, along with other necessary information required for verification. This data is collected to confirm the legitimacy of the business before listing it on the Mechanic Locator map.

How We Use Information

The information collected from motorists is used to create and manage user accounts, enable secure login, provide access to the map-based service display, and show nearby service providers within the selected area. For partners, the information submitted during registration is used to conduct a background verification process. Once verification is successfully completed, the partner’s business details are displayed on the app map so that motorists can locate and contact them. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information of users or partners to third parties.

Third-Party Services

Mechanic Locator uses certain third-party services provided by Google LLC to support core application functionality. Specifically, we use Google Maps Platform services, including Map Tiles and the Places API.

Google Maps Platform Map Tiles are used to display interactive 2D vector maps that show the locations of garages and towing service providers within the selected geographic area. When users interact with the map, map tile requests are processed based on the geographic regions viewed.

We also use Google Maps Platform Places API to enable location search functionality and address autocomplete when users search for areas or when service partners enter business addresses during registration. This may involve the processing of search queries and selected location data.

Data Sharing

Mechanic Locator does not share personal user data with external parties except where required by law or when necessary to complete the business verification process for partners. When a motorist selects a service provider on the map, the app displays the contact number of that provider, allowing direct communication between the motorist and the service partner. The app does not intermediate, record, or monitor those communications.
