The Friends of the Marine Education Center

The mission of the Friends of the Marine Education Center is to build interest in and support for the Marine Education Center. The Friends hold family friendly events that highlight the Center’s unique programs and exhibits and raise funds to help the MEC. Our group partners with local businesses and institutions to ensure that our fundraising efforts, combined with the Center’s municipal funds, enable the MEC to acquire the technology, equipment and materials needed to develop a world class environmental education program in our community.

The Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck is an important resource for educating people about marine life and conservation efforts. The Friends of the Marine Education Center has come together to provide additional support to the center, which includes fundraising, volunteering, and other efforts to enhance the center's programs and facilities. It's great to see communities coming together to support environmental education and conservation efforts!
