Measure Land Area. Last updated 13 October 2026.
Measure Land Area is a browser extension that measures land area on Google Maps. This policy explains what the extension handles and what it does not do with that information.
The extension saves the following in Chrome’s local storage on your computer:
The name you give a parcel
The latitude and longitude of each corner you draw
The parcel color
The area unit you choose
Where you last placed the panel on the screen
This information is stored so your measurements are still there after you reload the page. It is not sent to the developer, and it is not sent to any other server.
To keep an outline aligned with the land, the extension reads the map address in your browser, including the latitude, longitude, and zoom. That reading happens on your device and is not transmitted.
The extension does not collect your name, email address, Google account, browsing history, or payment details. It does not sell data, share data, or use data for advertising, credit, or lending.
The extension does not use Google APIs. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The extension includes an optional link to Ko-fi. If you open that link, Ko-fi’s own privacy policy applies. The extension does not receive your payment information or the amount of any tip.
You can delete a saved parcel with the × button in the panel. Removing the extension, or clearing its storage in the browser, deletes the remaining measurements from that browser.
