If you're like me, it's hard to let go of small pieces of fabric--and I'm always looking for ways to use what I have laying around.
Years ago I bought a cute Christmas ornament and haven't been able to find another that wasn't outrageously priced...so I got creative, hit the books, and made my own template.
You're welcome to follow this tutorial and wing it--or purchase a copy in my Etsy shop. :) The digital download prints to a standard sheet of paper, so it's quick and easy.
Here we go!
Fold and press 1/4 inch seams on top and bottom of pockets.
Once trim is attached, fold and press 1/4 inch seam for interior sides of pocket. (Pro tip: Leave a length of rick rack or trim on interior for ease of turning. I cut it short and had troubles.) ;)
Using a tight zig zag stitch, reinforce edges of dress, sewing along sides and along bottom. Using narrow bias tape, baste to neckline.
Place right sides together and stitch narrow 1/8 inch seams, matching bias tape so neckline is aligned. Finger press seams open.
I used a 14 gauge craft wire and some jewelry tools to craft a simple hanger. Dimensions are in inches above. Hanger is approx. 3 inches wide and 2 inches tall.
These cuties are addictive! Once you get the hang of it, they become easier every time! :)
