This Privacy Policy describes how Meal Prep Planner ("we", "our", or "us") handles information in
connection with your use of the Meal Prep Planner mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to
protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
1. Information We Collect
The App is designed to function entirely on your device. We currently collect and store the following
information:
Information stored locally on your device:
• Recipes you create, import, or modify
• Your weekly meal plan assignments
• Your shopping list and checked items
• Personal recipe notes and star ratings
• App preferences such as measurement system (US or Metric)
• Pricing information you enter for ingredients
All of this information is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and is never transmitted to
our servers or any third party in the normal course of app use.
Information collected when importing recipes from URLs:
When you use the Import from URL feature, the App makes a network request to the website URL you
provide in order to retrieve the recipe data. We do not log, store, or transmit this URL or any data
retrieved from it to our servers. The request is made directly from your device to the third-party website.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
• Your name, email address, or any account information
• Your location or GPS data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or crash reports• Payment information (purchases are handled entirely by Google Play)
• Any personal or sensitive information
3. Third-Party Services
The App interacts with the following third-party services:
Google Play Store: The App is distributed through the Google Play Store. Your purchase and payment
information is handled entirely by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not receive
or store your payment details.
Third-party recipe websites: When you use the Import from URL feature, your device connects
directly to the recipe website you specify. Those websites may log your request in accordance with their
own privacy policies. We have no control over and are not responsible for the privacy practices of
third-party websites.
Expo Application Services (EAS): The App is built using Expo, a React Native development platform.
EAS is used solely for building and distributing the App and does not collect data from your use of the
App.
4. Data Storage and Security
All data you create within the App — including recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, notes, and ratings —
is stored locally on your device. This data is not backed up to any server and is not accessible to us.
If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted. We recommend keeping
your own backups of any recipes you have created if you wish to preserve them.
5. Future Features
We may introduce features such as user accounts, cloud sync, or cross-device backup in future
versions of the App. If and when such features are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated
accordingly before those features are made available. You will be notified of any material changes
through an updated effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information
through the App, please contact us at the address below and we will take appropriate steps to address
this.7. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your information at all times.
You can:
• View and edit all your data directly within the App
• Delete individual recipes, notes, ratings, or your entire meal plan at any time
• Delete all App data by uninstalling the App from your device

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at
the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App
after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
