Taipei is very well deserved, and travelling is quite easy thanks to the public transportation which is very reliable, especially the metro. From our experience, you can trust Google Maps and other applications to plan your trips.
You can take the Taoyuan Airport MRT line (purple line) to the terminal station (Taipei Main Station).
Then, you can change to the Songshan-Xindian line (green line) at Beimen station (about 10-minute walk underground). Take the metro to Guting station, exit 5. There is a 10-15 minute walk to NTNU.
Time: About 1.5 hour. Price: 180 NTD (around 5.30€ / 5.50$)
Alternatively, you can take the taxi from Taipei Main Station to National Taiwan Normal University after taking the Taoyuan Airport MRT line.

Only New Taiwan dollar can be used.
You can purchase single-journey tickets at the vending machine at any metro station.
If you take the "King Bus" (國光號) to travel from the airport, you can use cash at the dedicated counter. We don't recommend using credit cards as not all the machines accept international cards.
You can use cash to pay in city bus. A single journey costs 15$ NTD. You need to prepare the exact amount.
We recommend using transportation cards, which can be used anywhere in Taipei and northern Taiwan. The most common one is called EasyCard (悠遊卡), which you can purchase at the airport's service counter, any metro station (including the airport metro stations), and any convenience store.
Purchasing an EasyCard costs 100$ NTD, which is in fact the deposit that can be returned when giving the card back at any metro counter.
You can recharge the EasyCard at any metro station (vending machine or service counter) or convenience store.
Notice that the EasyCard can also be used at multiple places, including purchases at the convenience store.
