Privacy Policy for MealMacroAI
Effective Date: July 18, 2026
MealMacroAI is an AI-assisted meal and macronutrient tracking application intended for general wellness and nutrition awareness.
This Privacy Policy explains what information MealMacroAI processes, how that information is used, and the choices available to users.
When you use the meal-analysis feature, the meal photo you select or take and any optional meal note you enter are transmitted securely through the MealMacroAI backend to an external artificial intelligence service.
This information is used only to generate estimated calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, and general meal feedback.
MealMacroAI does not use meal photos or meal notes for advertising or user tracking.
The app may store information locally on your device, including:
Meal-analysis results
Estimated calories and macronutrients
Meal dates and meal history
Body weight and height
BMI
Nutrition goals
User-entered profile information
This information is used to provide the app’s nutrition-tracking and trend features.
MealMacroAI assigns an anonymous identifier to the app installation.
This identifier is used to:
Manage the number of available meal analyses
Associate subscription status with the app user
Restore Premium access
Prevent duplicate or fraudulent service requests
Maintain service reliability
The identifier is not your name, email address, Apple ID, or advertising identifier.
MealMacroAI uses Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions.
The app and its service providers may process:
Subscription product
Subscription status
Purchase and renewal events
Expiration or cancellation status
Purchase restoration information
Anonymous App User ID
MealMacroAI does not receive or store your payment card number, bank information, or Apple ID password. Payments are processed by Apple.
MealMacroAI may store limited server-side records associated with the anonymous identifier, including:
Number of successful meal analyses
Analysis reservation status
Premium entitlement status
Subscription expiration status
Webhook and transaction event identifiers used to prevent duplicate processing
These records are used for app functionality, subscription access, security, and quota enforcement.
Apple Health integration is optional.
With your permission, MealMacroAI may read selected HealthKit information, such as:
Body weight
Height
BMI-related information
Active energy burned
Exercise and activity information
Other health or fitness information required for app features
HealthKit access is read-only.
HealthKit information is used on the device to calculate and display features such as basal metabolism, expected energy expenditure, calorie balance, and trends.
MealMacroAI does not transmit HealthKit data to the MealMacroAI backend, the external AI service, RevenueCat, or advertising services.
MealMacroAI does not use HealthKit information for advertising, marketing, or tracking.
You may change or revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through iOS Settings or the Apple Health app.
Apple requires users to explicitly authorize each HealthKit data type an app accesses.
Meal photos and optional meal notes are processed by an external AI service through the MealMacroAI backend.
The external AI service is used only to generate nutrition estimates and meal feedback.
MealMacroAI does not intentionally retain meal photos on its own backend after the analysis request is completed.
The external AI provider may temporarily retain API inputs and outputs according to its commercial-service retention policy. Anthropic currently states that standard API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from its backend within 30 days, subject to legal, security, and policy-enforcement exceptions.
AI-generated nutrition values are estimates and may be inaccurate.
MealMacroAI uses information to:
Analyze meal photos
Estimate calories and macronutrients
Generate general meal feedback
Display meal history and nutrition progress
Calculate daily intake and calorie balance
Display weight, BMI, activity, and nutrition trends
Manage free-analysis quotas
Provide and restore Premium subscription access
Protect the service from duplicate or unauthorized requests
Maintain and improve app functionality
MealMacroAI uses third-party service providers that process limited information only as necessary to provide the app.
These providers may include:
Apple processes App Store purchases, subscription payments, and purchase restoration.
RevenueCat processes subscription status, purchase events, entitlement status, and the anonymous App User ID.
Cloudflare provides backend request processing, security, quota management, and database services.
The external AI provider processes meal photos and meal notes to generate nutrition estimates and meal feedback.
Each provider processes information under its own privacy and security terms.
MealMacroAI does not sell personal information.
MealMacroAI does not share information with advertising networks or data brokers.
Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the app, process subscriptions, provide AI meal analysis, maintain security, and enforce usage limits.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.
MealMacroAI does not display third-party advertising.
MealMacroAI does not use personal information for cross-app or cross-website tracking.
MealMacroAI does not use Apple’s advertising identifier.
Apple defines tracking as linking app data with third-party data for targeted advertising, advertising measurement, or sharing information with a data broker. MealMacroAI does not engage in those activities.
Meal history, nutrition information, profile information, and HealthKit-derived displays are primarily stored locally on your device.
Limited anonymous records related to quota usage, subscription status, entitlement status, and security may be stored on MealMacroAI’s backend for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, prevent duplicate processing, enforce usage limits, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
Meal photos are not intentionally stored by the MealMacroAI backend after the analysis request is completed.
You may delete locally stored app information by deleting the app from your device.
You may revoke HealthKit access through iOS Settings or the Apple Health app.
You may manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings.
To request deletion of server-side information associated with your anonymous identifier, contact:

Because MealMacroAI does not require an account, additional information may be needed to identify the applicable anonymous record.
MealMacroAI uses reasonable technical safeguards designed to protect transmitted and stored information, including encrypted HTTPS communications, restricted service credentials, anonymous identifiers, and access controls.
No system can guarantee absolute security.
MealMacroAI is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us so that we may review and delete the applicable information.
MealMacroAI is intended for general wellness and informational purposes only.
Nutrition values, calorie estimates, macronutrient estimates, and AI-generated feedback may be incomplete or inaccurate.
MealMacroAI does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, disease prevention, or individualized medical advice.
Users should consult a physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional before making medical, dietary, or health-related decisions.
We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, service providers, or data-handling practices change.
The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
