Meagan B. Pendleton

Biography

Meagan Pendleton (she/her) is a second-year Ph.D. Student in the Department of Sociology at The Ohio State University. She received her BA in Sociology with a minor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in May 2022. As an undergraduate, Meagan worked on several projects related to inequalities associated with gender and sexuality. Notably, Meagan utilized semi-structured in-depth interviews to examine the ways in which allies of the LGBT+ community negotiate their allyship identity and the impact allies have in fighting against and furthering LGBT+ inequalities.  

Meagan's current research interests broadly include the study of inequalities related to gender, sexuality, and family. She is currently working on projects exploring Bi+ (bisexual, pansexual, and queer) populations studying bisexual identity formation. She hopes to continue this line of research in addition to working with LGBT+ youth to better understand queer populations. Meagan is currently advised by Dr. Rin Reczek.
