Subject line: [URGENT] No Genocide Supporters on Our Campus
Email body:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to express my alarm over the campus presence of Hendon MP David Pinto-Duschinsky, who has used his position in UK Parliament to support the ongoing genocide in Palestine. This contravenes Article III of the 1948 Genocide Convention (CPPCG), which states that complicity in genocide is a punishable offence.
Since taking his seat in July 2024, Mr Pinto-Duschinsky has:
Not signed the letter calling for the enforcement of sanctions on Israel
Attacked the government’s decision to partially suspend weapons sales to Israel
Taken £7,250 worth of donations from multimillionaire pro-genocide lobbyist Trevor Chinn
Joined Labour Friends of Israel in a meeting to discuss the 'consequences' of recognising a Palestinian state
Voted to declare the nonviolent activist group Palestine Action a terrorist organisation
Israel has yet again violated the most recent ceasefire, killing over at least 104 Palestinians and wounding 253 others in just under 12 hours. Mr Pinto-Duschinsky's actions in Parliament have contributed to this current escalation of Israel's ongoing bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
I am alarmed that Middlesex University would allow his presence on campus, as this shows a clear disregard for the safety of students who have suffered displacement as a result of Israel's actions in Palestine. Students and staff alike have voiced their distress regarding the University's endorsement of a politician who has been supporting and profiting off of the mass murder of their loved ones. In light of this very serious matter, I ask that you rescind any current and future invitations he has been granted to Middlesex University campus grounds.
Middlesex University must uphold the institution's standards on ethical values by looking to international law. The United Nations requires that all member states, including private individuals, public officials, and political leaders have an obligation to enforce the prohibition of genocidal acts and support for genocide.
Kind regards,
[Your Name]
