CE 3200 is a pivotal course in civil engineering that serves as a foundation for students to explore and develop thesis and research paper ideas. This course integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application, providing hands-on experience and in-depth understanding of specialized areas within civil engineering.
CE 4000, "Project and Thesis," is a pivotal course for me in civil engineering, focusing on innovative solutions within our field. My thesis centers on "High Performance Self-Compacting Concrete," where I explore advanced materials and techniques to enhance concrete's durability, strength, and sustainability. Through rigorous research and hands-on application, I delve into optimal mix designs, incorporate supplementary cementitious materials, and utilize innovative additives to achieve superior workability and structural performance. This coursework not only allows me to contribute to advancing construction practices but also prepares me for future leadership roles in sustainable infrastructure development. I'm excited to make meaningful contributions to the field through this exploration of cutting-edge concrete technology.
The Hopper Dredger Open Day at Mongla Sea Port, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, KUET, in collaboration with the Chinese institution JHCEC-CCECC JV, was a remarkable event showcasing the advanced trailing suction hopper dredger 'Xin Zi Lang 5'. This event, attended by over 150 participants including officials from Mongla Port Authority, students, and teachers from KUET, provided a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the operational prowess of the dredger and its significance in marine engineering.
The 'Xin Zi Lang 5' stands as one of Bangladesh's most advanced dredgers, playing a crucial role in maintaining the navigability of the Pussur Channel for Mongla Port's commercial vessels. The event underscored CCECC's commitment to social responsibility, knowledge dissemination, and technological exchange in Bangladesh. It highlighted the collaborative efforts between Bangladesh and international partners, exemplifying ongoing endeavors to enhance marine infrastructure and foster advancements in engineering and technology.
A comprehensive AutoCAD workshop was conducted over a period of two weeks, providing participants with foundational knowledge and practical skills in computer-aided design (CAD). Hosted by MD. WALIUL ISLAM bhai (2k17 Batch) , the workshop aimed to equip attendees with essential tools and techniques for creating detailed 2D and 3D drawings.
I participated in the truss challenge at Civil Convivial 3.0 (organized by: Civil Alliance, KUET) with my team comprising Sourov, Fuad, and Alisha. Out of 50 competing teams, we proudly secured the 4th position. Our truss design demonstrated exceptional efficiency, achieving a score of 532, with a remarkably low self-weight of only 98 grams. This experience not only showcased our teamwork and engineering prowess but also inspired us to pursue further challenges in structural design and contribute meaningfully to the field of civil engineering competitions.
